On Saturday, June 7, 2025, Kobe City Medical Center General Hospital Public Lecture for the 2025 fiscal year, "Your hearing loss can be treated! - Hearing loss and its treatment -" was held at the Chuo Ward Cultural Center multipurpose hall.
First, Dr. Yamamoto, Director of Otorhinolaryngology Department, spoke about "The Cutting Edge of Hearing Loss Treatment!", talking about how hearing works, the different types of hearing loss, and the latest treatment methods for hearing loss.
Next, speech-language-hearing therapist Yamazaki spoke about "the reality of cochlear implant treatment at our hospital," explaining the mechanism and types of cochlear implants as a way to compensate for hearing loss, as well as surgery and rehabilitation.
We also exhibited samples of cochlear implants, allowing many participants to experience the actual devices.
